Course Description: • Theoretical: (Importance of assessing the nutritional status of individuals and groups - Nutritional methods for measuring food intake, including 24-hour dietary recall, food consumption patterns, and dietary history - Estimation of anthropometric measurements, body composition, and modern methods for measuring body fat - Biochemical tests used to assess nutritional status, including measurement of protein, iron, calcium, and vitamin status - Clinical examinations used to assess economic and nutritional status) • Practical: (Conducting a 24-hour dietary recall of the previous day – Using the food frequency method to measure intake – Training on different meal measurement methods – Performing anthropometric measurements such as weight and height for all age groups – Measuring body composition and the percentage of fat and muscle using calipers and available modern devices – Using tables and charts of ideal measurements – Performing some blood tests related to individual nutritional status).

Objectives of the course :

4. Identification of the most important blood tests used to assess nutritional status.
5. Develop a nutritional status assessment protocol for healthy individuals and patients.
