Introduction to the study of medicine

Course Description: The first educational module, spanning four weeks from the student's enrollment in the Faculty of Medicine, aims to prepare, orient, shape, and develop the student's concepts, skills, and abilities by connecting them to learning methods. This is achieved by stimulating their innate drive for discovery, knowledge, and problem-solving. The primary goal of this educational module is to prepare a student who possesses the capacity for self-directed learning and the development of their learning and attainment faculties to keep pace with the flow of information and meet the requirements of continuous active learning. This serves as a crucial foundation for the future development of the graduating physician within a system geared towards community service and keeping abreast of advancements in the medical field.

Objectives of the course :

1. Practicing the brainstorming method in discussions and the dilemma-based learning style.
2. Practice active interaction with other students.
3. Learn communication and work skills through a group.
4. The ability to prioritize, formulate educational objectives, and implement appropriate achievement and research methods to achieve those objectives.
Guiding the student to the principles of medical terminology in the basic medical sciences.
6. Identify the core areas of basic medical science.
