Material management

Course Description: The course presents fundamental concepts related to materials management and internal inventory movement, focusing on material requirements planning, determining optimal order quantities, and establishing an integrated strategic plan for physical supply management. The goal is to develop an integrated system of logistics activities that helps achieve both the marketing and production objectives of the organization, thereby contributing to maximizing customer service at the lowest possible cost compared to competitors.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to enable the student to discuss the relationship between organizations and their suppliers and the key activities of the supply chain. It will explain the various aspects of production planning, establishing a material requirements planning system, determining the master production schedule, and forecasting future demand. It will also enable the student to discuss the procurement process from suppliers, the importance of inventory management, and the role of scheduling in supply chain management. Additionally, the student will be able to list the distribution problems faced by organizations in supply chain management and mention the scientific mechanisms used in determining inventory levels and material requirements planning.
