Environmental Health and Occupational Hazards

Course Description: This course will focus on the systematic identification of environmental health and occupational hazards in dentistry, and to highlight the preventive measures that can be adopted to mitigate the risks to dental personnel to a practically reasonable level.

Prerequisites: 610 DPH
Objectives of the course :

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Identifying occupational risks and their prevalence in dentistry.
2. Identify the different biological health risks.
3. Explain physical risks.
4. Identifying different chemicals that can put the dental team at serious risk.
5. Identification of musculoskeletal disorders and peripheral nervous system diseases.
6. Describe the preventive measures for each type of occupational hazard.
