Course description: Growth and development of fruit and vegetable fruits, physical and chemical changes accompanying fruit ripening. Methods of harvesting, handling, and packaging. Postharvest biological changes in fruits. Postharvest treatments to reduce fruit deterioration and improve their quality attributes between harvest and consumption.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to introduce the student to the stages of growth and development of vegetable and fruit crops, the changes accompanying their ripening, and the methods of harvesting, handling, packaging, and post-harvest treatments to maintain their quality.

1. It illustrates the stages of growth and development of fruit and vegetable fruits, as well as the physical and chemical changes associated with ripening.
