College of Business and Economics

The Department of Economics was established in 1402 H. Since its inception, the department has been working to graduate the economic competencies required for the labor market by providing male and female students with basic knowledge in economic sciences. The department also works to enrich knowledge by conducting field research to serve the economic environment in the Kingdom, and developing and updating the curriculum to keep pace with scientific developments in the field of economic sciences. The department offers male and female students the opportunity to specialize in economics. The major aims to provide the student with modern basic concepts in the economic fields and develop the analytical skills needed to make sound economic decisions. The economics major is concerned with providing the student with important tools for economic analysis with intensive applications of computer use and quantitative methods in economic analysis and forecasting. Male and female students obtain a broad background of economic knowledge that qualifies them for, but not limited to: - ✔ To work as economic analysts in the public and private sectors. - ✔ To work as economic researchers in the public and private sectors. - ✔ To work in the field of consulting and economic feasibility studies. - ✔ To work in the field of economic media. - ✔ To work in research centers. - ✔ To work in diplomatic bodies and international organizations. - ✔ In addition to the ability to pursue graduate studies.
