The venue includes a spacious interior foyer characterized by a geometric glass dome roof, surrounded by multiple balconies with seating areas containing blue chairs, and decorated with green spaces; the foyer also witnesses a number of people, many of them employees of the Business Administration Department, gathering around tables spread at different levels, and some attendees wearing the Saudi shemagh or Saudi ghutra as befits the official character of Al-Qassim University.

Providing education and training in clinical optometry and vision science to prepare distinguished professionals who are able to support national and global efforts to combat blindness, contribute to applied research, and serve the community through eye care programs.

An Overview

The department was established in the academic year 1428/1429 AH. It offers the Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree. Graduates work as part of the healthcare system, equipped with the scientific and clinical skills acquired through the academic program to provide comprehensive and independent medical care in the fields of eye health and vision. The department also aims to actively contribute to innovation and advanced research in optometry and vision science and to promote health awareness among members of the community.

Objectives :

1- Preparing and graduating professionals specialized in clinical optometry who are able to efficiently meet the needs of primary eye care at the regional and national levels.
2- Instilling the latest knowledge and skills in clinical optometry in students, and preparing them to become future scientists and researchers in optometry and vision science.
3- Developing students' skills in the field of eye care and providing opportunities to enhance their leadership abilities in their profession within the community.
4- Establishing advanced graduate programs in specialized fields of optics and vision science.
5- Providing resources that encourage faculty and students to pursue new knowledge and concepts in clinical eye care, optometry, and vision science through research and studies.
6- Providing continuing education and activities for practicing optometrists in the Kingdom to enhance their professional qualifications, clinical skills, and practical experience.
