Mission

Providing distinguished education in sociology and social work in a stimulating environment with knowledge, research skills, and modern professional expertise that promotes partnership and contributes to achieving social development and preparing distinguished national cadres of researchers and social workers who are qualified to deal with community issues and concerns and respond to the needs of development, the labor market, and community service.

An Overview

The department offers a number of academic programs ranging from bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in two disciplines: Social Work and Sociology. Despite the connection between the two disciplines, there are clear fundamental differences in the fields of study, practice, and employment, and according to the Saudi Unified Classification of Educational Specializations, Sociology and Social Work

Objectives :

1. Provide students with the scientific foundations of scientific research in the field of social sciences.
2. Studying and analyzing social phenomena, issues and issues.
3. To familiarize students with the social issues prevailing in human societies in general and Saudi society in particular, to identify their dimensions, prevalence, effects, and how to deal with them scientifically.
4. Providing students with the scientific foundations for working with social groups, different types of societies, and the skills of dealing with them.
5. Contribute to the enrichment of human knowledge in the social sciences.
6. Qualifying distinguished and specialized cadres in sociology and social work.
