Providing distinguished and advanced education according to academically accredited standards, to prepare highly skilled competencies in the Arabic language and literature and the foundations of research in it using the latest scientific and technical methods, preserving the linguistic heritage while benefiting from contemporary linguistic and literary studies, and meeting the needs of society and the labor market.
Overview
The Department of Arabic Language and Literature was established with the establishment of the College of Arabic and Social Sciences, branch of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Qassim in 1396 AH/1976 AD, consisting of two scientific departments, namely: The Department of Grammar, Morphology and Jurisprudence of Language, and the Department of Literature, Criticism and Rhetoric. Upon the issuance of the Royal Decree establishing Qassim University in 1424 A.H. 2003, the name of the college became the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, and the two departments were merged into one department called the Department of Arabic Language and Literature.

1- Strengthening the spirit of belonging to the Arabic language and literature, and cherishing its spiritual and cognitive values.
2- Preparing scientifically and skillfully qualified competencies in the Arabic language and literature.
3- Linking the linguistic and literary heritage with modern studies
and cognitive novelties.
4- Developing students' analytical and critical thinking skills
and scientific research.
5- Enabling students to utilize modern technologies in education.
6- Contributing to human and social development.
7- Meeting the needs of the labor market in the two sectors
