His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Qassim Region, blessed the signing of an investment contract to establish a medical rehabilitation center and a therapeutic health resort between Qassim University and Nakawa Medical Care Company, during a meeting with the University President Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, CEO of Nakawa Medical Care Company Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Abulkhail, and the University Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership Dr. Majid bin Fadhi Al-Enezi.
His Highness was briefed on the details of the investment project and its specialized rehabilitation and treatment services, which contribute to supporting the healthcare system and enhancing the quality of services provided to beneficiaries, in addition to the project's role in creating new investment and development opportunities in the region.
HH the Emir of Qassim emphasized that the region has promising elements in the field of investment in medical care, thanks to the development of infrastructure, the integration of services, the availability of medical competencies, in addition to the stimulating investment environment, noting the importance of attracting quality projects that contribute to raising the level of health services and meet the needs of the community.
His Highness touched on the medical tourism potential of the Qassim region, including natural sites, the mild climate in a number of governorates, as well as the availability of suitable sites for the establishment of medical health resorts, stressing that this type of investment is an important tributary to economic development and contributes to the diversification of tourism products in the region.
His Highness praised the importance of partnership between academic and investment entities and the health sector, in order to enhance the utilization of scientific and medical expertise and support the region's directions in developing specialized health projects with a sustainable impact.
The project includes a medical rehabilitation center and a therapeutic health resort, spread over an area of 160,000 m. It includes three medical fields including health rehabilitation, long-term care, and home care, and contains 24 departments with a capacity of more than 200 beds.
The project aims to provide integrated health and hospitalization services that combine medical treatment, rehabilitation and recreation according to the highest international standards, while seeking to raise the quality of life and promote physical and psychological health. It also aspires to achieve national leadership in the field of medical health resorts, enhance training opportunities for students, expand the horizons of knowledge exchange and health expertise, as well as implement joint studies and research with university faculties, and contribute to supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 through the development of the health tourism sector.
The project is part of the University of Qassim's knowledge investment contracts, which enhances its partnerships with the private sector in the fields of research, health services and training.
