Within the framework of its continuous digital excellence and leadership in the field of digital education, Qassim University has achieved several achievements and national partnerships simultaneously, as it was crowned with the Innovation Award in e-learning and e-training within the impact-making track for the open educational content branch, and for the second consecutive year it achieved the highest level in the results of the "National Digital Education Index" for 2024-2025, in addition to its partnership in the "Universities Coalition" initiative.
The university was crowned with the Innovation Award during a ceremony organized by the National Center for e-Learning on Wednesday evening, December 31, 2025, in Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for e-Learning, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, and His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, and a number of leaders of education and training institutions in Riyadh.
The award comes as a result of the university's efforts in employing emerging technologies to develop digital educational solutions. The university also became the highest educational entity among the public, private and non-profit sectors in the Kingdom to provide educational content exceeding 14,000 resources through the OREx platform of the National Center for e-Learning, and the Innovation Award aims to raise the quality of electronic educational and training practices, highlight the university's efforts in providing lifelong learning opportunities, developing human capabilities and skills, and highlighting the best successful and innovative practices in the e-learning sector.
In recognition of its excellence in adopting sustainable digital technologies and integrating digital education practices within its educational environment, the university achieved, for the second consecutive year, the highest level in the results of the "National Digital Education Index" for 2024-2025, issued by the National Center for e-Learning. This index is a national tool to measure the maturity of digital education and training in government agencies, as it measures the level of compliance, the quality of digital educational practices, innovation, and sustainability of technologies, giving agencies with continuous progress a leading position in digital education.
The university joined the initiative as part of its efforts to develop joint programs and courses, activate the exchange of faculty members, and share digital educational resources to enhance the efficiency of investing institutional capabilities in the e-learning system and enhance educational opportunities for various groups.
The participation of Qassim University highlights its role as an active partner through its qualitative contributions and distinguished expertise, which raises the level of institutional integration between universities.
