On Wednesday evening, November 12, 2025, the State Security Presidency and the university crowned the first batch of postgraduate students (Master's degree) from prison inmates, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Fahd Al-Sharekh, His Excellency the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahd bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, a number of directors of the security sectors in the region, deans of the concerned colleges, and families of the graduates at the headquarters of the General Investigation Prison Administration in Buraydah.
The first batch included 45 master's degree graduates from prison inmates in three specializations: 15 graduates from the Master of Sociology and Social Work, 15 graduates from the Master of Business Administration, and 15 graduates from the Master of Systems Department.
The graduation ceremony included a screening of a film showcasing the university's efforts in offering professional diploma and master's programs, as well as the experience of in-person education in prisons.
This initiative comes as part of the efforts of the university and the Presidency of State Security, represented by the General Investigation Prison in Buraidah, to rehabilitate and develop inmates in the Investigation Prison by providing in-person university education services in various scientific degrees.
