His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Faisal bin Saad, Deputy Governor of the region, inaugurated on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the King Abdulaziz Conference Center at Qassim University, following the issuance of the Royal Decree approving the naming of the university's conference building "King Abdulaziz Conference Center", in the presence of HE Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharekh, University President.
His Highness said: It is a great honor for Qassim University to embrace a distinguished cultural and scientific center that bears the name of the founder of this holy country - may God have mercy on him - and that every Saudi citizen and even all Muslims are proud of for his great virtue on this country and uniting hearts before unifying its lands.
His Highness added: For truth and fairness and in appreciation of King Abdulaziz's efforts in serving Muslims and unifying our dear country, we recall his great efforts and his loyal men in every achievement, national unity, security and safety in every atom of the soil of this great homeland.
Following the inauguration of the center, HH the Emir of Qassim stressed that this generous naming reflects the great support and attention that the region receives from our wise leadership, and reflects historical symbolism and national pride in the founder of this great entity, King Abdulaziz - may God protect him - pointing out that the center will, God willing, be a scientific and cultural beacon that contributes to enhancing the academic and cognitive movement in the region in particular and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general.
His Highness the Emir of the region was briefed on the exhibition of the King Abdulaziz Conference Center, praising the contents of the exhibition, which includes more than 20 corners that tell about the state's interest in education and immortal words of the wise leadership, where His Excellency the President of the University reviewed figures about the center, which is located on a total area of more than 55,000 square meters, at a cost of more than SAR 200 million,It is the largest center in the Qassim region dedicated to events, conferences and meetings, and occupies a prominent location within the university city, and is a unique architectural landmark with its striking design. It consists of three main parts: a large theater with a capacity of more than 2000 seats, a medium theater with a capacity of more than 700 seats, a large meeting hall with 72 seats, an exhibition hall, training rooms, service offices, VIP rooms, dining halls, meeting rooms, parking and logistics services.
For his part, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, expressed his thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may Allah protect them - for their continuous support for the education sector and its institutions, and for choosing the name of the Founding King, may Allah have mercy on him, to be the title of the conference center at the university.
He also extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Emir of Qassim Region for his attention, follow-up and inauguration of the center under its new name, and to His Highness the Deputy Emir of Qassim Region, Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Faisal bin Saad, for their support for the university and its projects.
Al-Sharekh explained that Qassim University was honored by the issuance of the royal decree with this name, which bears the name of His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud - may God rest his soul - in a generous gesture that embodies the link between the glorious present and the ancient past, and reviews the great role of the founder in building this country and uniting its ranks on the bases of faith, science and insightful vision, asking God Almighty for success and success to serve this country and its people.
At the end of the visit, HH the Emir of Qassim honored the members of the Standing Committee for University Projects and the members of the Executive Committee.
