Budget management and financial planning

Overview

The department is considered one of the main and important departments of the university, which is concerned with preparing the university's draft budget, careful follow-up of the implementation of the university's budgets, monitoring the disbursement of budget lines and items, making projected estimates of what will be disbursed from the budget lines and items, making transfers and support from the Ministry of Finance according to the regulations, as well as performing the work that falls within its field of competence assigned to it by the senior management of the university.

To be a distinguished administrative model in supporting the university's mission efficiently and effectively in learning and teaching, and in the field of scientific research, to achieve the university's vision and objectives effectively and proficiently in line with the Saudi Vision 2023, and to serve the community.

Mission

Preparing the university's draft budget in coordination with the main authorities, in order to meet the actual needs of the university, in accordance with the regulations governing financial affairs in universities in its first chapter, and in accordance with the instructions for implementing the state's general budget and financial and accounting instructions. Following up on the implementation of the budget and making transfers to address the deficiencies that may occur in the budget in accordance with the rules and regulations and in implementation of the university's strategic objectives.

Objectives

1. Preparing the draft annual budget in line with the actual plans and needs of the university and achieving its objectives in accordance with the budget preparation rules and models issued by the Ministry of Finance.
2. Coordinating with the competent departments of the university in studying what is needed to reschedule projects.
3. Preparing plans for the university in coordination with the concerned authorities.
4. Work to implement fiscal balance by applying the instructions issued by the Ministry of Finance to implement the budget.
5. Work and coordinate with the concerned authorities on automating procedures to control, speed and accuracy of spending.
