«The Student's Guide is a comprehensive advisory document prepared by the Deanship of Development and Quality at Qassim University. Published in 1441 AH / 2019 AD as an updated version of the previous guide issued in 1431 AH / 2012 AD, it spans (127) pages distributed across twenty chapters. The guide stems from the university's belief that the student is the core of the educational process, its ultimate goal, and its most important output. This is embodied in the university's strategic plan under its second objective, which includes four strategies and twenty-one projects to improve services provided to male and female students, as well as those with special needs, across all branches and sections.

The guide begins by defining the Qassim region geographically, climatically, and in terms of services, and then provides an overview of the university's establishment, vision, mission, values, and graduate characteristics. Before moving on to introduce the Deanships of Admission and Registration and of Student Affairs, along with their affiliated departments such as guidance and counseling, the student fund, housing, and student activities. It dedicates an important section to the Code of Rights and Professional Ethics, detailing students' academic and non-academic rights, their responsibilities, issues of academic integrity such as plagiarism, misrepresentation, impersonation, and sabotage, as well as the procedures for student grievances and complaints, their committees, statutory periods, and forms.

In its subsequent chapters, the guide covers the academic system and examinations (university terminology, registration, add/drop, withdrawal, postponement, academic dismissal and reinstatement, excuses and make-up exams, grades and the calculation of semester and cumulative GPAs, transfer and visiting student status, graduation requirements, and disciplinary penalties), followed by study plans, graduation requirements, unit distribution, course coding, prerequisites, and the credit hours of college programs. It also addresses student committees and their rules of procedure, academic support and counseling, student services, awareness programs, peer tutoring, international students, rovers and the scouting movement, university housing, the student fund and regulations for subsidies, loans, and student employment, the electronic portal and its services, the Deanship of Library Affairs and its branches, the Saudi Digital Library, quality and academic accreditation and the role of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation, scientific research and the Center for Innovation and Intellectual Property, events, career days, and graduation ceremonies. It concludes with practical guidelines for new students and appendices that include a pledge to commit to the charter of rights and ethics.

The guide features a direct language and relies on tables, figures, and illustrated steps to explain electronic services, while including contact numbers, links, and email addresses for the relevant entities, making it a practical reference that accompanies the student from the moment of admission until graduation.
