The Department of History and Heritage at the Faculty of Languages and Humanities, Qassim University, is pleased to announce to its esteemed students the approval of the department's new and upgraded study plan. This comes as part of the ongoing efforts of the university and the faculty to develop academic programs, enhance the quality of education, and improve program outcomes in alignment with scientific advancements and labor market needs, and in harmony with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in the fields of history, heritage, and culture.
The preparation of the new curriculum took into account the integration of historical and heritage knowledge with scientific and applied skills, contributing to the development of the student's academic and professional personality, and providing them with qualitative preparation that enables them to pursue postgraduate studies and work in fields related to history, heritage, culture, museums, institutions, and research and heritage centers.
The newly developed plan includes two tracks (National History – Cultural Heritage) and aims to:
- Enhancing basic knowledge and skills in the fields of history and heritage.
- Keep pace with recent developments in historical and heritage studies.
- Developing students' skills in scientific research, analysis, critique, and documentation.
- Enhancing the practical and fieldwork aspects of studying heritage and history.
- Employing digital technologies and modern methods in historical and heritage research and study.
- Linking academic courses to labor market needs and career opportunities in the cultural and heritage sector.
- Enhancing students' awareness of the importance of national heritage, preserving it, and highlighting it.
- Preparing students to continue their postgraduate studies and specialize in relevant scientific fields.
