The university concluded the initiative of the "Nights of the Deanship of Community Service" program, which was held during the summer vacation period of 1439H, starting from 16/9/1439H until 29/11/1439H. The initiative, which is considered the first of its kind, included several service programs that benefited about 5937 beneficiaries from the people of Qassim region, as part of the social responsibility undertaken by the university represented by the Deanship of Community Service, where the initiative programs aimed to promote Islamic values and belonging to the homeland.
The program is one of the extensive campaigns implemented by the deanship, where the activities started by visiting a number of government facilities, charitable societies and parks, and had a positive impact in raising health awareness and conducting medical examinations for beneficiaries, developing awareness of some common medical issues and providing consultations to individuals, as well as caring for some community groups and providing various services, and contributing to the development of university partnerships through the framework of developing social responsibility and serving the local community.
The events included 8 main programs, namely: Disability Nights, Girls and Women Nights, Inmate Nights, Balsam Society, Orphan Nights, Social Observation Home, Community Training Nights, and Youth, as these programs were held in 10 locations in different governorates of Qassim region, namely: Khusaybah Community Development Committee, Visual Impairment Association, King Abdullah Park in Buraydah, Buraydah Prison Administration, Balsam Charity Association, Tamouh Center for Orphans, Social Observation Home, Charity Association for Orphan Care (Children) Women, Future Leaders Academy, and Khartoum Park in Muthannaab Governorate, with a total of 4054 beneficiaries of the recreational and medical programs.
During the initiative, the clinics provided 14 health services to the people of these areas, including: Checking low and high blood sugar, checking blood groups, checking low and high hemoglobin (anemia), checking farsightedness and nearsightedness, checking corneal issues, checking retinal refraction, checking glaucoma and white eye, checking retinal detachment, checking tooth decay, checking gums, applying fluoride to protect teeth, in addition to educational and awareness services, including: Educating visitors on the dangers of diabetes, anemia and obesity, educating them on how to protect their teeth, distributing toothpaste and toothbrushes for children, and providing selected training courses for some groups.
The deanship also held 8 courses that benefited 392 male and female beneficiaries, with the aim of upgrading the skills of the local community and raising awareness by offering a series of specialized training courses for both sexes, such as: A qualifying English language course for the university, a course on character building, a course on developing values in children, and a course on the art of marital management, among others.
