The University, represented by the College of Economics and Management, hosted the first workshop of the Misk Foundation's initiative in partnership with Bloomberg, which began yesterday, Sunday, and will continue for two days with the participation of 40 faculty members of both sexes.
The workshop included an initial presentation of the objectives and mechanisms of the initiative and how to benefit from it in enriching the applied aspect of courses and raising the level of research contributions, in addition to a number of detailed training programs in the coming months.
Misk Foundation and Bloomberg announced the initiative following a meeting between HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Bloomberg's founder and CEO, as part of several initiatives launched to develop Saudi Arabia's market and financial potential.
Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Obayeb, Dean of the College of Economics and Administration, said that this initiative will enhance Saudi Arabia's efforts to develop strong financial training courses in Saudi universities, especially after Qassim University was selected within the first phase of the initiative in order to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
He added that the university seeks to activate this educational initiative aimed at forming qualified national cadres - of both sexes - according to the latest international professional standards, to achieve a qualitative leap in financial and administrative education not only at the regional level but also at the national and international level, by updating the programs and study plans to achieve consistency and harmony with the educational outcomes of the prestigious professional financial certificates.
