The second day of the 10th Career Day at Qassim University witnessed a heavy turnout and interaction from visitors who came to visit the exhibitions of the participating organizations, view the available jobs, and benefit from the training courses offered to visitors, after His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, opened the 10th Career Day yesterday, Tuesday, in the main lobby of the university.
Through the Career Day, the university seeks to help graduates find a job opportunity and facilitate their communication with companies and institutions operating in the Saudi market. The morning period has been allocated to receive job-seeking students, while the evening period has been allocated to receive female graduates and families, in addition to educating them on effective ways to search for a suitable job, how to prepare a resume and conduct personal interviews, establish partnerships in the fields of employment and training between the university and the participating entities, and provide an opportunity for these entities to present their available employment and training opportunities and introduce their activities and contributions to the development of the Saudi market.
Mr. Khalid Al-Adl, one of the visitors to the Career Day exhibitions, explained that this occasion is an opportunity for the youth of the region through applying for jobs or the accompanying courses and seminars to learn the methods of applying for a job or preparing a resume, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of Qassim University in activating this initiative and for this great effort, hoping that all other entities will follow the example of this university to provide many career opportunities for young people.
He added that the Qassim region needs such exhibitions, and the university's initiative is distinguished and beautiful, stressing that the region has many jobs, but there is no link between the job seeker and the exhibitor, and engineer Sami Al-Mutaq, one of the visitors, explained that this exhibition is better than previous exhibitions because the exhibiting companies are among the best companies and institutions in the Saudi market, and through the courses and accompanying programs to gain skills for applicants and recent graduates, as well as the opportunity for families during the evening period, which is a positive thing for job seekers.
Engineer Ibrahim Al-Wabli, a recent graduate of the College of Engineering, said that the exhibition was distinguished by the diversity of its sections, expressing his wish that more companies specialized in the engineering field that serve all disciplines would be present, and he aspires for most large and leading companies in the field of engineering to attract energies and employees through these exhibitions.
Student Moaz Al-Rasheed, one of the visitors to the exhibition, emphasized that such exhibitions contribute to informing students about how to work in companies and their system and how to apply for their jobs and prepare CVs, which is useful even if there is no employment, because the region lacks such exhibitions, pointing out that he found in the university exhibition a density in the number of participating companies that do immediate recruitment, and expressed his aspirations for the next stages to be much better, God willing, to attract job seekers and companies under one roof.
It is worth mentioning that Career Day is an annual event held by the university to emphasize its interest in the future of its graduates. The university administration is keen to continue its relationship with its students after graduation and not to leave them to face their fate alone, but to remain by their side, support them, and work to achieve communication between them and employers.
