His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, inaugurated on Tuesday morning the activities of the 10th Qassim Scientific Forum for Dentistry, organized by the College of Dentistry at the University over 3 days at King Khalid Civilization Center in Buraidah, with the participation of 14 universities and colleges, and 13 international and local speakers from faculty members and consultantsThe forum's activities include 20 presentations, 60 scientific posters, 9 lectures, 5 workshops, 10 exhibitions and accompanying associations, with a total of 30 hours accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
During his speech following the inauguration of the forum, Al-Dawood stressed that the university is proud to host and organize such events, as it organized a scientific forum yesterday, the International Conference on Community Pharmacy, and today the young College of Dentistry is organizing this scientific forum. He pointed out that the most proud thing is the participation of the college students in organizing such high-level forums, stressing that the presence of speakers enriches this forum and contributes to achieving the benefit, wishing the forum to achieve the goals set for it and that all those affiliated with this specialty come out with the benefit.
For his part, Dr. Zafer Al-Asmari, Dean of the College of Dentistry, welcomed the guests participating in the forum organized by the college students, stressing that they are the main pillar of any college and have proven that they are up to the great responsibility that was given to them despite the academic concerns, but the spirit of youth flowed with success when they were given the opportunity.
Al-Asmari explained that the college pays great attention to this forum until it becomes a scientific community in which the spirit of the profession is built and students gain experience and knowledge, as the tenth edition of the precious medical forums is being held today over ten years, succeeded by generations of students to show it in a proper form and overcome obstacles and difficulties. He also thanked the lecturers in the workshops, vice presidents and faculty members, the president of the tenth medical forum, Abdullah Al-Anaz and his colleagues for their efforts to make this event a success, and the sponsors for their unlimited support.
For his part, Abdullah Al-Anaz, the head of the tenth medical forum, stressed that this forum, which is held annually by the college under the full management of students and over a period of three days, is a scientific wedding in which minds discuss and exchange ideas in all fertile academic activities that ignite the spirit of competition among students in the forum to achieve the desired goals, which are summarized in acquiring many positive and scientific skills for male and female students, instilling the spirit of leadership in the presidents and organizing members, raising the scientific level and student research, encouraging creative research in dentistry in the Kingdom, and publishing scientific outputs among students.
The UQU President honored the participants and supporting sponsors, then inspected the corners of the accompanying exhibition and watched a number of practical and research posters on display.
