His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud, Governor of Qassim Region, inaugurated the International Conference on Community Pharmacy, organized by the College of Pharmacy at Qassim University under the slogan "Creating a culture based on values" on Tuesday morning, 27/5/1439, at King Khalid Civilization Center for 3 days, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of Qassim University, Dean of the College of Pharmacy Dr. Mansour Al-Sharida and a group of experts in the field of pharmacy.
At the beginning of his speech at the opening ceremony, His Royal Highness welcomed all conference guests from inside and outside the Kingdom, pointing out that Qassim University is considered multiple universities in one university, as it embraces more than 37 colleges and more than 70 thousand students, stressing that this conference is a distinctive panel in the future that everyone is proud to have in the region. His Royal Highness also thanked the University President and Dean of the College of Pharmacy for their efforts to make this conference a success.
His Highness expressed his happiness with the participation of a number of private sector companies in the conference and employing graduates in medical specialties, especially in light of the great challenge facing the Qassim region in localizing jobs, pointing out that the private sector is a key partner in development and hospitals have a big role to play, noting that pharmacy is a profession and not a job, as the profession is performed by a specialist and the job is performed by anyone.
His Royal Highness stressed that the Qassim region has made great strides in localization, as a year ago, His Highness proposed the idea of localizing pharmacies in the region to be in Saudi hands, pointing out that specialization in this field is not easy, but he studied the subject with many experts and specialists to ensure that the pharmacist's ability to dispense medicine to the patient appropriately because there is no room for error in this case because it concerns the patient's life, expressing his happiness for the holding of this conference that will bring useful knowledge to our dear country.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of Qassim University, General Supervisor of the conference, stressed that the development of the health field is due to the keenness of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to develop and support education and provide the best tools for this, pointing out that all aspects of the educational process are witnessing a great boom at all levels, as there are more than 71 thousand students at Qassim University alone and they study in more than 37 colleges in all governorates of the region with more than 70 scientific, literary and sharia specialties.
Al-Dawood added that the university enjoys unparalleled support from the "Academic Prince", His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal, Governor of Qassim Region, who spares no effort in supporting the university and encouraging its employees to exert more work and giving, and what the university achieves is due to the great support of His Royal Highness.
At the end of his speech, Al-Dawood thanked all the workers of this conference, including organizers, researchers, and participants, including male and female students, as well as the University Media and Communication Center, public relations, and the organizing committee.
In turn, Dr. Mansour Al-Sharida, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, stressed that the tremendous development in the College of Pharmacy and its sciences and the study of new developments have become the most important work of pharmacists around the world. From this perspective, Qassim University has paid attention to the health field in particular and the application of academic and professional standards and is still racing the wheel of development and working to open channels of communication between it and the private sector to achieve the vision of the Kingdom 2030 to upgrade the pharmaceutical field.
Al-Sharida pointed out that the university is organizing this international pharmacy conference, which is the first of its kind specialized in the pharmaceutical field at the level of the Kingdom, with the participation of a group of experts from all over the world, as the conference program was approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties by 28 hours of education, in order to discover opportunities and challenges, develop the working profession, remove difficulties and obstacles that hinder it, in addition to creating job opportunities to provide a distinguished practical generation that can Saudize jobs.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sarraa then delivered the speech of the conference speakers, in which he referred to the great efforts made by the College of Pharmacy at Qassim University throughout the year. Just two weeks ago, the College organized the internship course for its students, as it is keen to develop them, educate them and graduate batches capable of working, benefiting and keeping abreast of the developments of modern medicine, explaining that pharmacology is an active science in the field of medicine and is concerned with the most important stage of health care, namely treatment.
The opening ceremony included a visual presentation about the University's College of Pharmacy. HH the Amir also opened the accompanying exhibition and viewed 10 medical health exhibitions representing different hospitals, universities and associations from all over the Kingdom. He also viewed the conference's recruitment pavilion, which will provide more than 232 medical jobs, where Qassim National Hospital will provide 100 jobs for nurses, doctors and specialists, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Hospital will provide 4 jobs for doctors, while Saudi Anova Company will provide 13 jobs for pharmacists, in addition to the Arabio Vaccine Factory, which will provide 15 jobs, and Al-Dawaa Pharmacy will provide 100 jobs for pharmacists across the Kingdom, In addition to Arabio Vaccine Factory, which will provide 15 jobs, and Al-Dawaa Pharmacy will provide 100 jobs for pharmacists across the Kingdom. His Highness then inspected the medical and career counseling corner for male and female students, and inspected the practical serum pavilion, then honored the participants, sponsors, government agencies and speakers at the end of the ceremony.
