The University Pavilion at the National Heritage and Culture Festival "Janadriyah 32" will welcome visitors to the festival tomorrow, Thursday, offering a number of special contributions that carry the cultural heritage of the Kingdom in general and the Qassim region in particular in various fields, in addition to a package of events and activities introducing the university and its programs, a special exhibition of the palm tree and answers to visitors' inquiries.
University exhibition
The university's pavilion includes a special exhibition that provides an overview of its history and achievements since its inception, a comprehensive statistic on the number of faculty members, undergraduate students, graduate students and employees, academic programs, the number of colleges and deanships, an introductory visual presentation containing pictures and information about the university, in addition to the most important achievements of the university that come with the generous support of the wise leadership at all levels, the international accreditations achieved by the university and a number of colleges as well as national accreditations, as well as the agreements signed by the university with a number of international universities and major companies.
Palm Pavilion
The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine also participates in an integrated pavilion on the palm because of its social status and cultural symbolism, which has made it a highly reliable economic tributary in light of the Kingdom's directions in Vision 2030, which enhances non-oil revenues. The participants in the pavilion explain the palm and what it contains and offers through simplified scientific facts to reach the community members and those interested in palm trees.
The pavilion includes 8 sections including: Classification, geography and care of the palm tree, agricultural practices, how to prevent diseases and pests that affect it, as well as the health of the palm tree, in addition to the corner of secondary and transformational industries of the palm tree, which shows how much benefit is derived from it and what is based on it from transformational industries and by-products with good and diversified economic returns.
The University and Palm Corner provides a review of what Qassim University offers to this blessed tree in terms of interest, studies, literature, research and holding international and local meetings to promote this vital sector, in addition to a special corner to receive visitors and interested parties, hold side discussions and answer their inquiries.
The university's participation in such national celebrations is part of its mandated objectives to serve the community in a way that benefits it and enhances its cultural gains and rich heritage, thus strengthening the social partnership that the university continues to carry on its shoulders and seeks to excel in it.
Veterinary clinic
The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, through a fully equipped mobile clinical veterinary clinic, is also supervising the camel races accompanying the National Festival for Heritage and Culture "Janadriyah 32", as it has done every year for more than 15 editions of the festival, through a specialized team of veterinary clinics affiliated with the Department of Veterinary Medicine, where the mobile clinic directly supervises the races during their start.
The mobile clinic also conducts a clinical examination before announcing the winners of the races to ensure that the requirements for each race, such as age groups and others, have been met.
The veterinary clinic seeks to provide the best services to camel owners in the field of examination and prevention of diseases, and the best treatment methods for injuries to camels participating in camel races. The mobile clinic also provides many services in various locations surrounding the racing areas, and receives cases that require examination, treatment and motor injuries, and medium to small operations provided free of charge for cases that require surgical operations.
