The University, represented by the College of Medicine, organized the "Medical Internship Course", which discussed the latest scientific and practical developments for more than 15 medical specialties, last Friday and Saturday at the headquarters of the external clinics and in the presence of a number of lecturers and specialists from different regions of the Kingdom, where the most prominent advantages and disadvantages of medical specialties were discussed during the course.
The number of beneficiaries of the course reached more than 150 students through 8 scientific lectures and 32 workshops, with the participation of more than 20 male and female doctors in various health specialties, where they discussed how to draw the internship plan and the role of the doctor with the work team, in addition to presenting the latest developments and updates in the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties exam, and the lecturers explained how to write a model CV and presented the most important mistakes to avoid while writing it, in addition to explaining the job agencies for doctors and how to get a job in them.
For his part, Dr. Nizar Muhammad Bahbari, Consultant of Internal and Infectious Diseases at the College, stressed that the internship course is one of the most important training courses that help prepare the medical student for the post-graduation stage, as the internship year is the real beginning of the doctor's practical life, indicating the need to continue and expand such courses because of the positive results they achieve for the college students.
Dr. Amadi Al-Washmi, a lecturer in urology at the college, explained that this course, which is being held for the fifth time in a row at Qassim University, is now considered one of the best and largest courses at the level of medical specialties, noting that the idea was launched 6 years ago on the initiative of the staff of the College of Medicine at Qassim University with the aim of charting the path of the doctor before graduation and paving the way for him to choose the appropriate specialty.
