Qassim University students address the visual issues of prison inmates

The Department of Optometry at the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Qassim University continued its campaigns to provide medical services to all segments of society. The college launched a campaign to detect visual issues for prison inmates in the Qassim region by conducting comprehensive eye examinations with a program that extends until the end of the academic year.
Prof. Dr. Yousef bin Hamoud Al-Dabasi, Dean of the College, said that the campaign is an extension of Qassim University's initiatives towards community service, and includes about 1000 prisoners, using the latest medical devices provided by the university under the supervision of consultants and professors of ophthalmology at the university, with the participation of fifth-year students.
Al-Dabbasi pointed out that the campaign includes examination of refractive errors, eye deviation, cornea, glaucoma, the effect of diabetes on the retina and others, making it a comprehensive preventive program to preserve the health and safety of prisoners.
