On Monday, the College of Languages and Humanities held the "World Translation Day 2024" forum through a number of scientific seminars and specialized workshops, in addition to an accompanying exhibition containing 28 student booths, at the main headquarters of the university city.
Through scientific seminars and workshops, the forum aims to provide the college students with knowledge in the field of translation and the role of the translator, introduce the male and female students of the Department of English Language and Literature to the post-graduation paths that open horizons for male and female graduates of this department, in addition to praising the efforts of students at the university in the field of translation through the exhibition accompanying this forum, in which 28 students participated in various translated works, such as some short clips that talk about the renaissance that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing in order to achieve Vision 2030.
The forum provided an explanation of the professional guide, which is one of the models that the translator and translator should familiarize themselves with, in addition to a dialogue session on the translation of Saudi folk legends, in addition to scientific seminars that discussed "The passion of the translator: The presence of passion in translators' introductions, the multiplicity of translation media and the role of the translator, as well as translation in the service of the nation, and specialized workshops that discussed medical translation and simultaneous translation, with more than 400 students and faculty members attending the forum.
