His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, stressed that the first Saudi state was established more than three hundred years ago when Imam Muhammad bin Saud, may God have mercy on him, laid the foundation for it when he established the Emirate of Dariyah, and then expanded after that to establish a strong state aimed at establishing security, arranging conditions, unifying the word, and spreading science.
Most of the peoples of the Arabian Peninsula at the time were not accustomed to civil organization based on a central authority issuing orders and directives, which made the burden doubly on the founders of the three phases of the Saudi state, as the first Saudi state, the second Saudi state, and the third Saudi state were established and extended until this day, praise be to God.
He said: Those who read history with a contemplative reading have a growing sense of pride in the generation of the first builders who laid the foundation of this great entity, steadfast in the face of changes, driven by their belief in establishing a state whose people are organized into one contract. They got what they wanted.
He added, "There is no doubt that one of the objectives of the royal order to make February 22 a day to commemorate the founding of the Saudi state in the name of Foundation Day is to cherish the deep roots of this blessed state, and the close connection of its citizens with its leaders since the era of Imam Muhammad bin Saud three centuries ago, and the beginning of his establishment in the middle of 1139 AH (1727 AD) of the first Saudi state, which lasted until 1233 AH (1818 AD), and its capital is Diriyah, and its constitution is the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
The President of Al-Qassim University pointed to the unity and security that this state established in the Arabian Peninsula, after centuries of dispersion, division and instability, and its steadfastness in the face of attempts to eliminate it, as it was only seven years after its end until Imam Turki bin Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Saud in 1240 AH (1824 AD) was able to restore it and establish the second Saudi state, which lasted until 1309 AH (1891 AD); and ten years after its end, God led King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Faisal Al-Saud in 1319 AH (1902 AD) to establish the third Saudi state and unify it under the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Faisal Al-Saud in 1319 AH (1902 AD) to establish the third Saudi state and unify it under the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his sons after him followed his approach in strengthening the construction and unity of this state, may God have mercy on them all until our prosperous era led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect them and approve them for all good.
Al-Dawood said: Foundation Day is a reference to the civilizational, cultural and historical depth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is also a reminder of the contributions of imams, kings and their men in laying the foundations of the country and an affirmation that the first building block that was laid more than 300 years ago must continue with the same spirit of determination that made the Saudi state withstand events and adversities.
He added, "What we and our children have to do towards this great country is to work hard and devotion so that the locomotive of development and progress continues under our wise leadership and its wise vision so that the flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains high as long as this life lasts.
