His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, affirmed that the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - may God protect it - has intensified its efforts in combating the Coronavirus since its emergence, and has made its eyes and attention focused on the health of citizens and residents alike, and the Kingdom's experience in facing the pandemic has added human values and innovative concepts in crisis management.
This came during his patronage of the scientific conference organized by the university today, Wednesday, 8/4/1444 AH, entitled "The Kingdom's Efforts in Confronting the Coronavirus Pandemic: Challenges and Strategies", which aims to highlight the Kingdom's efforts in addressing the pandemic and the procedures and measures it has taken in this regard and to study them in an expanded scientific manner through a number of research and scientific papers prepared by researchers from inside and outside the university.
His Highness explained that the Kingdom has provided the world with an exemplary model in dealing with the health, social and economic repercussions of the situation, unique in its humanitarian values, and beyond that, the Kingdom's efforts extended at the regional and global level to support international efforts to protect millions of people from the danger of the pandemic that hit everyone without exception, pointing out that the Kingdom's government efforts were characterized by taking a number of preventive measures and necessary precautionary measures, including suspending mass travel, temporarily halting all international and domestic flights, curfews, and shifting education and business practices electronically to be remote.

For his part, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of Qassim University, welcomed the patronage of His Highness the Emir of the region: He stressed that the university's organization of this conference comes out of its keenness to show the efforts made by our Kingdom under its wise leadership - may God protect it - in preventive precautions, health and treatment services, and to introduce the successes achieved towards the progress of the educational process in all stages, as well as introducing the security efforts, the moderate balance in the economic aspects, the ability to employ artificial intelligence technologies and smart device applications, and the new developments in the legal and regulatory aspects, in addition to the contribution of the charitable sector and community awareness in facing this pandemic.
His Excellency the President said: The successes achieved by the Kingdom in dealing with the pandemic locally and internationally are present evidence of its superior ability to manage and control this crisis, as the Kingdom has harnessed all capabilities and exerted continuous efforts at all levels to ensure a decent life for humans in the country of humanity, with the sacrifices made by the men and women of this generous country, all of which were the reason - after God's favor - for our superiority over developed countries towards overcoming this pandemic with all competence, and facts and statistics are only a witness to this.
He added: "Through this conference, we know for sure that we will not surround all these great efforts and multiple achievements achieved on the land of our dear Kingdom by our sons and daughters from different sectors, but it is an attempt to highlight the most prominent successes and gains.

The head of the conference organizing committee pointed out that more than 29 scientific research papers covering all the themes and objectives of this scientific meeting were judged with the participation of 19 main speakers and a number of non-main speakers in 6 conference sessions, wishing the participants and researchers a successful scientific conference, thanking the conference guests, organizers, participants in its sessions, and all supporting departments at the university.
