UQU receives "Excellence in Innovation" award at Anthology's global conference in Dubai

The University, represented by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, received the "Excellence in Innovation" award in the Middle East from the global company "Anthology" at its annual conference held in Dubai under the slogan "Anthology Together Middle East 2022". This global award is given to educational institutions distinguished in employing modern technologies and innovative solutions in e-learning and distance education systems, which contributed to the development of the educational process and solving the obstacles to achieve its goals.

 

His Excellency the Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, Prof. Dr. Saad bin Mubarak Al-Dosari, received the award on the sidelines of the conference held on October 18-19, 2022 in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of leaders and an elite group of e-learning and distance education officials at universities in the Middle East and a number of international experts in the field.

 

Qassim University was selected for this award in recognition of its contributions and innovative solutions during 2022 to develop and modernize the e-learning system to improve the educational process and solve its obstacles, including the introduction of a system (tracking statistics and issuing virtual classroom reports); employing the tools of the distance learning management system to implement academic counseling programs for students in the university colleges; and providing e-library services for university employees on the Blackboard system.

 

The university also worked on developing electronic platforms to present and manage various student activities, in addition to creating an electronic template for postgraduate studies; developing electronic platforms for seminars, learning forums and scientific conferences, holding scientific research plan discussions, discussing scientific theses (PhD-Masters), creating remote training platforms and providing live (technical support) services to students and professors.

 

This award is classified among the global awards in the field of employing e-learning systems, and is awarded by Anthology, an international company concerned with developing and supporting e-learning systems, to distinguished universities and educational institutions that have made a significant change in their educational systems through innovative technologies, means and solutions.

 

This award aims to support innovative practices in the field of e-learning globally by analyzing and studying the practices and experiences of a large number of universities, and selecting and honoring the best of these experiences during the year.

 

The conference discussed global trends in the field of e-learning systems and the trends and challenges affecting it, as well as sharing the best e-learning practices at the level of universities in the region, in addition to the efforts of universities in activating e-learning and reviewing successful experiences.
