On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, Qassim University, represented by the College of Education, held an educational panel discussion on the occasion of World Teacher's Day, entitled "Transformation in Education Starts with the Teacher", in the presence of a number of teachers, university employees and students at the main headquarters in the university city.
The panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Dr. Abdul Azim Saud Al-Otaibi, dealt with several themes, where Prof. Dr. Jubair Suleiman Al-Harbi presented the first theme on "The Role of Teachers in the Transformation of Education", during which he talked about the teacher, his status and role in the transformation of education, as well as the role of the school in preparing generations, the reasons that call for the transformation of education, interest in the digital transformation process, the philosophy behind the transformation, the desired benefit, in addition to the requirements for the transition from traditional education to digital learning, and the characteristics and roles of the teacher in digital transformation, while Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Sweiket addressed the theme of digital transformation.
The third theme was titled "Requirements of Transformation in Education", presented by Dr. Sulaiman Saleh Al-Musaytir, during which he discussed the requirements of transformation in education, the challenges and transformations that the world is going through, indicating a number of characteristics of transformation, the characteristics of the modern teacher, and the needs of the contemporary teacher, while the fourth theme discussed "The Future of Education and the Teaching Profession", presented by Prof. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Ghadoni, on the future of education and the teaching profession, the preparation, the philosophy of the terms education, teaching and the future, explaining the pillars of the future of education and the teaching profession, the features of future education and its goals.
