The Vice Presidency of Qassim University, represented by the Standing Committee for Energy Management, organized a workshop entitled "Rationalizing Energy Consumption in Government Entities", in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency, in the presence of a number of university employees, at the theater of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at the main headquarters of the university city.
During the workshop, Mr. Badr Al-Shehri, Outreach and Public Relations Officer at the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency, addressed a number of topics, including: Energy consumption in the Kingdom, the most consuming sectors, as well as the royal orders to improve energy efficiency, in addition to providing some tips and guidelines to reduce consumption in government agencies, including air conditioning, lighting, and government vehicles.
The workshop included the participation of Dr. Talal Al-Harbi, a faculty member at the College of Engineering, in a meeting entitled: Energy Management and Efficiency, during which he emphasized the role of institutions in energy conservation, awareness of how to rationalize and optimal investment in high-efficiency devices, indicating that the university seeks to achieve high efficiency in its energy consumption and carries on research and development in new technologies to solve the consumption issue, explaining that the university represented by the College of Engineering offers quality programs in the field of energy and its efficiency in the bachelor and master degrees and a joint master's program of renewable energy, as well as special training programs.
For his part, His Excellency the UQU Vice President, Dr. Mohammed Al-Saawi, received the representatives of the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency during their visit to the university city to present this workshop, in the presence of the members of the university's standing committee for energy management.
