His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, welcomed new students in all colleges of the university on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, stressing that the university has taken the utmost care in the admission and registration process based on the available seats in various disciplines, indicating that the differentiation between applicants was based on the achievement gained by the student, whether from secondary school results or in the measurement and achievement tests.
This came during his patronage of the program launched by the university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, on Tuesday, 3 Safar 1444 A.H., entitled "Ambition. The program, which targets new students and lasts for three days, aims to introduce them to the technical and educational services available to them during their university studies. The program also helps students solve any issues that arise, whether educational or non-educational, in addition to introducing them to the rights and duties of a university student and clarifying the academic and non-academic regulations and rules that help them adapt to the requirements of the university stage.
He congratulated the new students on their admission to the university, drawing their attention to the importance of making sure that they are worthy of this status, as the university student knows that the environment in the university is different from the previous one, as the university student is responsible for the seriousness of his journey, discipline and keenness for his educational future. The university student is responsible for the seriousness of his journey, his discipline and his keenness on his educational future, and he must be keen at the beginning of his journey on his university average so that he can maintain a high rate that enables him to obtain all opportunities, and arm himself with skills and courses that have become one of the most important things that students must be keen on to obtain an opportunity in the labor market.
Al-Dawood pointed out that the Deanship of Student Affairs has introduced a student's skill record in which all the student's activities held at the university are recorded, which will have an impact after graduation in providing employment opportunities, expressing his hope that the group that was accepted at the university is a distinguished group and keen to offer itself and its homeland what our wise leadership aspires to, and what Qassim University aspires to progress and development.
The university president recommended the students to do well for themselves, their country, and solidarity with the rulers, saying: "No matter how much we give to our country, we will not do it justice, and no matter how much we give, we will not do justice to our rulers," he said, wishing everyone success and success.
The UQU President also inspected the exhibition accompanying the program, which contains 22 corners representing the departments and units of the deanship in the main lobby and 12 workshops for new students to explain the nature of the academic system, programs and the work of the supporting deanships and departments at the university, where male and female students benefit from the accompanying lectures in their university life.
Many departments and units participated in the exhibition, including: Fund Management, Guidance and Counseling Department (Arshadni Program), Specialized Clubs Department, Central Clubs Department, Sports Activity Department, Sons of Martyrs Unit, Disability Unit, Student Training and Development Unit, Skill Registry Unit, Student Housing, Scholarships Department, Talent and Innovation Unit, Admission and Registration, Postgraduate Studies, Applied Colleges, and Educational Services.
The program also included an open meeting with the Dean of the Deanship of Admission and Registration, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmad, the Dean of Educational Services, Dr. Saleh Al-Huwairini, the Dean of the Applied College, Dr. Khalid Al-Mayman, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Ajlan, during which the students' inquiries were opened and answered.
The program also aims to introduce the support and attention that the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia receives from the wise leadership, as well as to identify areas of excellence and creativity, spread knowledge about the media and its impact on students, and introduce the support services provided to students with disabilities.
The program's opening ceremony witnessed a presentation of a visual film about the Tumooh program, as well as a visual film about the classroom system, in addition to a meeting with a graduate about her experience at the university level.
