UQU President patronizes the "Modern Studies in Qur'anic Text Interpretation" conference An evaluative vision"

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, sponsored today, Tuesday, 4/4/1443 A.H., the "Modern Studies in Qur'anic Text Interpretation" conference. The conference is organized by the university, represented by the Sheikh Ali Al-Qaraawi Chair of Qur'an and its Sciences, and will last for two days. 

During his opening of the conference, the UQU President stressed that the university pays special attention to scientific events that represent a pillar of ideas, scientific enrichment and research movement; in which specialists from universities, research centers and educational institutions from inside and outside the Kingdom participate, pointing out that this attention stems from the approach of our blessed country to take unlimited care of the Book of Allah and its interpretation, serve science and scholars, contribute to the consolidation of correct doctrine and implement the texts of the two revelations in arbitration and education.

Al-Dawood explained that this conference targets those contemporary studies related to the great Quran, and researchers from multiple countries participate in it to clarify this idea, clarify and show the truth, and deny articles, ideas and studies that have gone wrong about the words of the Almighty, and the university is honored by such a scientific contribution that victories the word of God and shows modern studies about it. 

The university president said: "As we open this conference, we thank Allah Almighty for the blessing of the homeland and the blessing of security and safety under the leadership of our King, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Highness the Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, and the unlimited support we receive in the field of education and at Qassim University in particular, and I am pleased on this occasion to welcome all conference participants from inside and outside the Kingdom who contributed with their research and ideas.

Al-Dawood extended thanks and appreciation to the sons of Sheikh Ali bin Abdulrahman Al-Qaraawi for supporting this chair specialized in the Quran and its sciences, led by Sheikh Mansour bin Ali Al-Qaraawi, and thanks to the organizing committee and the scientific committee of the conference for their efforts in organizing, coordinating and arbitration, and to everyone who helped or contributed to its organization, asking God Almighty to help us all and grant us success in serving our religion and our dear homeland under our wise leadership and achieve the expectations sought by His Highness the Emir of the region and his Deputy, may God protect them. 

After that, His Excellency Prof. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Turki, UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, General Supervisor of the conference, spoke, stressing that this conference comes within the programs of the chair and its continuous distinguished events that achieve its mission and vision, and that this conference represents a part of the care of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may Allah protect him, for the Holy Quran in printing, recitation, and interpretation.

He pointed out that this conference aims to achieve lofty goals, the most prominent of which are: Introducing the role of Qassim University and Sheikh Al-Qaraawi Chair in enriching Qur'anic studies, explaining the characteristics of the Qur'anic text and the trends of interpretation in its interpretation, clarifying the limits of interpretation by reason and the resulting interpretations, evaluating contemporary readings in the interpretation of the Qur'anic text, and revealing the impact of modern theories and scientific discoveries in the interpretation of the Qur'anic text.  

Al-Turki added that the scientific committee of the conference has precisely defined the themes of the conference to ensure the realization of its objectives, which are as follows: The concept of the Qur'anic text and its characteristics, the trends of interpretation of the Qur'anic text, the role of reason in the interpretation of the Qur'anic text and the deviations resulting from it, contemporary readings in the interpretation of the Qur'anic text between its history and its possibilities, and the impact of modern theories and scientific discoveries in the interpretation of the Qur'anic text.

He added: After the announcement of the conference and the invitation to participate in it, forty-four participants from different countries from Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Yemen and Malaysia applied for it, and after receiving the ideas of the applicants and judging their research, the scientific committee concluded that sixteen of them were accepted, presented by distinguished competent researchers, indicating that the conference research will be broadcast via virtual halls "remotely" in five sessions over two days, as these papers were printed in the scientific record of the conference to be close to researchers and graduate students in this field.   

For his part, Dr. Dato' Zulkifli, Head of the Quran Research Center at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, delivered a speech on behalf of the participants: We congratulate you for holding this conference in light of the pandemic and the pandemic. You have been able to hold this conference and gather researchers under its umbrella for scientific discussions on modern studies of the Qur'anic text. For this reason, I take this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency the President of the University for this successful organization, and I appreciate your effort in organizing this conference from planning it and obtaining approval from several parties.

Zulkifli also praised the procedures for evaluating research and following up researchers and others, indicating that it is not easy to carry out such an organization under these circumstances, but you have shown that these obstacles have been overcome and the world bears witness to this, saying: I have great hope in the conference in extracting and realizing opinions, and then compiling the papers of distinguished researchers in academic encyclopedias for modern studies in the interpretation of the Qur'anic text, praying to Allah to facilitate your affairs and accept your work, and to make it in the balance of your work on the day when no money or sons will benefit except those who come to Allah with a sound heart.
