On Monday, 19/10/1442 A.H., His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, inaugurated the Asset Management System (Maximo Program) at the General Administration of Maintenance and Services, which aims to develop the department's work and services provided to the university staff and students at the highest standards, in the presence of His Excellency the University Vice President, Dr. Muhammad Al-Saawi, and His Excellency the Supervisor of the General Administration of Maintenance and Services, Engineer Saleh Al-Dhalei.
After touring the facilities of the administration and the asset management headquarters, the UQU President listened to an introduction and presentation about the General Administration of Maintenance and Services, and a detailed explanation of the program from Engineer Al-Dhale, who explained that the program is a digital platform for managing assets and providing services to beneficiaries, and is considered a leading asset management system produced by IBM, through which 100% digital transformation will take place in maintenance and services procedures.
The program aims to increase productive and operational efficiency and reduce costs for facilities and assets by 30 % to 40 %, increase the quality of service and maintenance work by 50 % to 70 %, extend the life span of facilities and systems and increase reliability by 80 % to 90 % through planning and developing preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, facilitate the estimation of expected costs of works and service and maintenance contracts, and support strategic decision-making.
After that, Engineer Nawaf Al-Deifallah, Deputy Supervisor of the General Administration of Maintenance and Services, reviewed the tasks of managing the Maximo program, namely: Receiving and organizing electronic requests, following up requests and escalation until the request closure stage, preparing the required data forms and entering them into the program, creating and developing procedures and indicators according to the tasks and powers of each employee, integrating with other systems and departments, providing information and issuing required reports, publishing statistics and performance indicators on the administration page on the university website, and providing support to contract managers, supervisors, contractors, and all users and beneficiaries.
He added that the program develops and documents service and maintenance procedures, raises operational efficiency and reduces costs, monitors systems and devices, issues real-time statistics, analyzes data and issues reports, monitors performance indicators, supports strategic decision-making, estimates costs, preserves the university's assets, facilities, and utilities, and increases their lifespan.
He explained that the program aims to assess the level of service, control quality, develop services, increase the level of satisfaction, evaluate performance, control inventory and materials, issue work permits, manage facilities, manage risks, manage warehouses, manage contractors, issue alerts and escalation, issue financial extracts, and monitor human resources.
