Project management changes the face of women's colleges in 75 days

The General Administration of Projects and Maintenance carried out renovation works for the female colleges affiliated to Qassim University in Buraydah and the governorates of the region, where 95% of the required works were completed within two months from 20/9/1435H to 20/11/1435H, and the remaining works are currently being completed.

 His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, pointed out that the university pays attention to everything that improves the environment of the women's colleges and creates all the appropriate atmosphere for students, in order to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership, which makes great efforts to support higher education and meet the aspirations and hopes of the sons and daughters of the university, praising the efforts of the University Vice Presidency and the Projects Department in completing these works within a short period of time.

Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Omar, Vice President of the University, confirmed that the university has completed the first phase of the rehabilitation of the buildings of the women's colleges, which number more than 50 buildings. He apologized to all the affiliates of the colleges, including deans, vice deans, female employees, faculty members and students for the issues that accompanied the rehabilitation work required by the conditions of work, especially in light of the short period allocated to it, pointing out that the restoration work included rehabilitation of bathrooms, electricity, floors, paints, umbrellas and air-conditioning.

Dr. Al-Omar appreciated the attention, follow-up and support of the UQU President, appreciating the efforts of the Projects Department represented by its director, engineers and project contractors for their tremendous efforts and tireless work to complete the work as hoped within the specified period, noting the cooperation of other parties with the university, especially the Emirate of the region, governorates, secretariats and civil defense, stressing the completion of permanent buildings for girls' colleges that are expected to start delivering them successively starting from next year.

For his part, the Director of the General Directorate of Projects and Maintenance, Engineer Sulaiman bin Saleh Al-Faridi, pointed out that the restoration work included:

1- Flooring works from external and internal tiles, interlock and parquet.

2- False ceilings for laboratories and office halls.

3- Exterior and interior painting and door painting.

4- Spacers and gypsum works.

5- Metal curtain works.

6-Socrite work.

7- Electrical work, including new connections, modifications in the distribution of panels, and the addition of electrical transformers.

8- Adding dolphin air conditioners and asbestos air conditioners.

9- Restoration of complete restrooms from breaking, replacing and installing sinks, ceilings, drainage works, water supply and required accessories.

10. Parachute work.

11- Stainless steel staircase works inside and outside.

12- Fire alarm work.

13- Voice paging systems.

14-Projectors and monitors.

15- Firefighting works.

16-Changing doors and accessories.

17- Asphalt work.

18-Walls and rooms are covered with wood.

19- Stone facade works.

20- Insulation works for the roofs of buildings.

In conclusion, Mr. Al-Faridi appreciated the university administration's support for the projects and their keenness to reflect the size of the unlimited support by the leadership of the country and to be in the process of everyone's aspirations.
