His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, affirmed that the Kingdom will remain a vital center in scientific and research enrichment at the regional and global levels, thanks to God Almighty, then the keenness of its wise leadership represented by His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - to continue the wheel of work and continue to implement all research and educational activities, despite the circumstances the world is going through due to the Corona pandemic, with guidance to take all preventive measures and measures to limit the spread of the pandemic.
During his opening speech at the conference organized by the university, represented by the College of Designs, on Wednesday, 10/4/1442 A.H., which lasted for two days under the title "Fashion Design and Future Expectations: Challenges, Visions, Creativity, Investment", that the establishment of such conferences came as a result of success and the ability to employ modern technology and activate virtual halls as a temporary substitute for physical attendance, saying: "I had hoped that this conference would be present at the university to be more influential and highlight the creativity of our female students, but this was prevented by the Corona pandemic, which I ask God Almighty to lift it from our country and the whole world.
The President of the University welcomed the participants in the conference, who contributed to its enrichment with contributions from different countries, including Portugal, Romania, Egypt, Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing that this diversity is a confirmation of the Kingdom's approach in supporting scientific research in all fields, thanking them for their attendance and participation in this qualitative conference organized by the College of Designs within a series of conferences offered by the university as a contribution to knowledge enrichment and research in various fields.
His Excellency also thanked the staff of the UQU Vice Presidency for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, led by Dr. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Turki, for following up the organization of this conference. He also thanked the organizing committee headed by the UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Nawal bint Nasser Al-Thuwaini, and the scientific committee headed by the Dean of the College of Designs, Dr. Awatif Ali Al-Saif, and all those involved in the organization from the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education and the General Administration of Media and Communication, asking Allah to crown these efforts with success and excellence in promoting creative ideas and finding new job opportunities through what is presented.
On her part, Dr. Awatif Al-Saif, Dean of the College of Designs and head of the conference's organizing committee, welcomed the participants and guests who contributed to enriching the content of the conference with their modern scientific research in the field of fashion design, as well as all the organizers and preparers of this conference from inside and outside the college, and thanked UQU President for his patronage of the conference.
Al-Saif pointed out that the conference discusses many topics related to all aspects of the field of fashion design through several scientific sessions and workshops throughout the two days of the conference, with the participation of many experts and researchers in this field from inside and outside the Kingdom, praying that the recommendations of the conference will contribute to the advancement of the field of fashion design in the Kingdom.
