On Monday, 8/4/1442 A.H., Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, inaugurated the Sa'ed "Smart Communication" system in his office in the main building of the University City, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Al-Obayeb, Vice President for Educational Affairs, Prof. Ahmed Al-Turki, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Khaled Al-Harbi, and Dean of Information Technology, Dr. Fahad Al-Mansour, in the presence of the University Vice President for Planning, Development and Quality.
Following the launch of the new system, Al-Dawood extended his thanks and appreciation to the UQU Vice Presidency for Planning, Development and Quality and the Deanship of Information Technology for the technical services provided in line with current developments, noting that such a program will greatly serve the university affiliates and reduce direct communication with the university staff and leadership, praying to God for success for all those working to achieve such achievements that we are proud of.
After that, the Dean of the Deanship of Information Technology, Dr. Fahad Al-Mansour, reviewed the most important features of "Smart Communication", which is an interactive automatic response program capable of conducting an interactive conversation with beneficiaries by receiving and sending text messages through various social platforms, pointing out that this technology is one of the forms of artificial intelligence, where the platform can learn from incoming inquiries and build cumulative experience, which will save a lot of financial and human resources and the time needed to answer inquiries, reflecting positively on the level of satisfaction for the beneficiaries.
Al-Mansour pointed out that the work on this program took 900 hours of work and 4 versions, with the participation of 9 team members and 34 amendment requests. The project included a three-month preparation phase and a two-month pilot phase at the level of the Deanship of Information Technology.
The Dean of the Deanship of Information Technology added that the most important features of the project include linking with various social media platforms such as: Twitter, WhatsApp, and Telegram, the possibility of linking with the university systems to verify the data and identity of the beneficiary, direct conversation by technical support, the possibility of categorizing the beneficiary's inquiry and transferring it to the competent employee directly, the use of artificial intelligence to analyze the beneficiary's text with the possibility of learning, the ease of updating the knowledge base of the robot by the competent employee, the possibility of evaluating the level of satisfaction by the beneficiary and other features contained in the project.
