Based on the university's mission to prepare integrated competencies, and out of the keenness of the Leadership and Capacity Development Center at the university to develop the capabilities of administrative leaders at the university, the center, in cooperation with the Institute of Studies and Consulting Services, held a training course entitled "Fundamentals of Professional Project Management" over three days during the period from 9-11/3/1442 AH, within the training courses for department directors and directors of administrative affairs at the university.
The course, presented by Engineer Mansour bin Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Resini, a TVTC certified trainer in Professional Project Management (PMP), aimed to develop the trainees' semi-integrated knowledge in using the BMBOK Guide methodology. The course also aimed to develop the participants' knowledge, attitudes, skills and expertise in the field of professional project management (PMP) according to the project management methodology, so that the male and female participants, including department directors and administrative affairs managers in the various colleges, deanships and departments of the university, can understand the basics of project management efficiently and effectively.
The course discussed many topics related to the basics of professional projects, namely: A comprehensive knowledge coverage of all PMP professional project management topics according to the PMI project management methodology, as well as recognizing the different methods of project selection, learning how to establish projects, practical practice of time and financial planning, learning how to identify project work and form work teams, as well as the financial practice of project monitoring and control, learning about types of contracts and contracting mechanisms, supervision and receipt, and studying the basics of the latest version of the Project Management Knowledge Guide.
