Liberian student thanks the university for taking care of scholarship students during the coronavirus pandemic

The novel coronavirus pandemic has prevented student Beleni Abubakar and his fellow scholarship students from Liberia and his peers of different nationalities from traveling to their countries and meeting their families and loved ones, during the travel ban period, like millions of people around the world and the precautionary measures and preventive measures applied by most countries around the world to prevent the spread of the pandemic infection.

The Liberian student says: The University of Qassim has provided him and his colleagues of all nationalities with all the necessary means of health care, prevention and nutrition in light of this pandemic, in addition to holding almost daily meetings with them to inspect the conditions of students and listen to their suggestions inside the university dormitory.

On Sunday, 28/11/1441 AH, during the virtual graduation ceremony for the seventeenth batch of its graduating students, he shared some of his personal experience during that crisis in a video clip, to document this period and the university's dealing with them and standing by them until they safely passed through this unprecedented crisis.

Since the beginning of the crisis, the university dealt with the situation quickly to protect these students and provide them with full medical care, in addition to various housing services. Immediately, and with the beginning of the crisis and the announcement of precautionary measures, under the guidance of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, the Deanship of Student Affairs established a command and control center inside the residence, while activating the role of committees, student clubs and rangers to provide all the services needed by the student, maintenance services, meetings and lectures. The deanship also started evacuation operations when the opportunity presented itself, as about 900 students out of 1200 were traveled to Oman

Now, more than 4 months later, the university has been able, by the grace of God, to maintain the safety and health of these students, and the university continues to evacuate those who wish to travel to their countries, in addition to continuing to provide full care services for those who are waiting to finalize their travel procedures until the last student reaches his country safely, God willing.
