The university, represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research, launched a scientific grant under the slogan "Wa'ad" for new Saudi faculty members at the university who have not been appointed as assistant professors for more than a year, with the aim of attracting them to the environment of distinguished scientific research by providing financial support and providing an appropriate and encouraging environment to spread the spirit of competition among researchers.
For his part, Dr. Mansour Al-Sharida, Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research, explained that the deanship aims through this project to support new researchers and support them at the beginning of their research journey, enabling the discovery of distinguished researchers early on so that they can be a main pillar in the university's research work in the future, pointing out that the new faculty members benefiting from this grant are those who have not been appointed to the rank of assistant professor from Saudi Arabia for more than a year.
Al-Sharida explained that the terms and conditions of joining the scholarship require that the faculty member should not have been appointed at the rank of assistant professor at the university for more than one year, as the appointment decision at the rank of assistant professor must be attached to the research proposal, and the research should not be derived from a master's or doctoral thesis or previously completed in whole or in part, in addition to the research being within the research priorities of the National Plan 2030, indicating that the researcher must commit to completing the project and collect all the points required to complete the program, as follows: The researcher must attend a scientific research ethics course from the programs organized by the Deanship of Scientific Research for a total of 20 points, attend three specialized or non-specialized courses from the programs organized by the Deanship for a total of 40 points, and present a workshop to review the results of the project in coordination with the competent research centers for a total of 20 points.
If the researcher publishes a scientific paper in a peer-reviewed journal classified in ISI or Scopus, he will receive 20 points. The researcher must submit a detailed research proposal through the deanship's electronic program for applying for research (RTMS), and a contract is signed between the researcher and the Deanship of Scientific Research after meeting the conditions, as the duration of the project is one year starting from the date of signing the contract, which cannot be extended, explaining
