His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, UQU President, honored today, Tuesday, 13/4/1441 A.H., the colleges that won the University Shield for Community Service in its third edition, under the slogan "Together we take responsibility for our community", which evaluated the participation of colleges in the field of community service during the academic year 1439/1440 A.H., in the presence of the UQU Vice President Dr. Muhammad Al-Saawi, the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Prof. Ahmad Al-Turki, the Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Muhammad Al-Udeib and other Deans, Deans and staff members of the university.
This competition between colleges in the field of community service comes as an initiative of the Deanship of Community Service in its desire to serve the region and develop the competencies of citizens and develop their capabilities. The award is based on several advanced criteria to evaluate the programs offered by the participating colleges in community service, as part of the social responsibility undertaken by the university.
During his sponsorship of the ceremony, the UQU President pointed out that the efforts made by male and female colleagues in various colleges have borne fruit and provided community services that were touched and witnessed by everyone, pointing out that these works carried out by colleagues at the Deanship of Community Service are an effort of all, during which various services were provided to the community, the number of beneficiaries reached nearly 100 thousand male and female beneficiaries from all segments of society.
Al-Dawood said: We have the right to be proud that we work in this university, and I am happy with the response and participation of the colleagues, and we hope that next year the participation will be for all colleges of the university, to exceed the 100,000 beneficiaries of the university's various services, and the university administration has a responsibility and one of its responsibilities is to provide support and motivation.
He added: We fully believe that we are part of the community, and community service is the third goal of the university after education and scientific research, so we look forward to being creative in providing this service, and with God's permission, and then with the diligence of everyone, we will be able to continue to achieve more excellence for our university, in light of the generous support the university receives from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - pointing out that the budget announced yesterday is evidence of the keenness of this state - may God protect it - to support education and allocate billions to move forward with our education.
At the end of his speech, Mr. Al-Dawood extended his thanks and appreciation to all those working on this award and their achievements, praying to Allah Almighty to help us reach what we aspire to, that all the university colleges and deanships provide high-quality service to the community, according to the aspirations of His Highness the Emir of the region and His Highness the Vice President, who emphasize the importance of community service, and that the university is a major and essential partner in this regard.
The Deanship of Community Service presented a visual presentation about the award, during which Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Nesayan, Dean of the Deanship of Community Service, stressed that the idea of establishing the University Shield Award for Community Service came as one of the outputs of the project to motivate the university affiliates to contribute to community service activities, which is a project of the university's strategic plan implemented by the deanship as a reference body, as the idea developed through a series of workshops and specialized academic focus groups, noting that the participation has witnessed qualitative leaps in the number of colleges. It started with 16 colleges in its first session, then the number increased to 22 colleges with an increase of 37% in its second session, while the number of participating colleges reached 32 colleges in this blessed session with an increase of 45% from the previous session and an increase of 1,100TP3T from the first session. The number of programs organized in this round reached about 1216 programs that varied in their executive nature and academic background according to the nature of the implementing teams in each college, in addition to the participation of three supporting deanships for the first time, a qualitative shift in the performance of deanships and departments of the university.
"Al-Nusayyan" emphasized: He expressed his hope that next year the deanship will achieve 100% from the participation of the university colleges and 75% from the university deanships and supporting departments, pointing out that the number of beneficiaries this year amounted to more than 98,710 male and female beneficiaries, and this figure increases the size of the university's social responsibility, offering thanks and appreciation to the university director and vice presidents for their constant support and cooperation, asking Allah to grant success and success to all.
After that, the UQU President honored the colleges that earned the university's diamond shield for community service, namely: College of Designs, College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, College of Pharmacy, College of Applied Health Sciences in Al-Ras, College of Science and Arts in Anizah, College of Nursing, College of Science and Arts in Riyadh Al-Khubaira, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, College of Science and Arts in Asyah, College of Medical Rehabilitation, College of Applied Medical Sciences, College of Public Health and Health Informatics, and College of Medicine.
Then the colleges that received the Golden Shield in community service were honored, namely: Buraidah Community College, College of Science, College of Dentistry, College of Education, College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Onaiza, College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, and the bronze shield was awarded to the College of Science and Arts in Badriyah.
Next came the colleges that received a certificate of participation in the competitions, but did not achieve the University's community service shields, namely: College of Pharmacy in Anizah, College of Computer Science, College of Science and Literature in Al-Ras, College of Science and Literature in Aiyun Al-Jawa'a, College of Engineering, College of Science and Literature in Al-Madhanib, College of Science and Literature in Al-Bukairiyah, College of Dentistry in Al-Ras, College of Science and Literature in Nabhaniyah, Community College in Anizah, College of Business Administration in Al-Ras, College of Architecture and Planning, and College of Science and Literature in Buraidah.
Al-Dawood also honored the supporting deanships participating in the awarding of the university shield for community service, namely: The Deanship of Scientific Research, which received the diamond shield, the Deanship of Student Affairs, which received the bronze shield, and the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies, which received a certificate of participation, in addition to honoring the committee for examining the participation of colleges and deanships
