On Thursday, 8/4/1441 A.H., the University, represented by the College of Computing, held a scientific seminar entitled "Cybersecurity: Its Concept and Role in Achieving a Secure Digital Education and Society", presented by the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Nada Al-Ruhaili, in cooperation with the Deanship of Community Service and organized by the Community Service Unit at the College of Computing and the Training Unit at the College of Shari`ah, with the participation of 78 female trainees, including employees and faculty members at the college, in addition to attendees from other educational sectors from outside the College of Shari`ah.
During the lecture, the Vice Dean reviewed the concept of cybersecurity, examples of attacks that an individual may be exposed to, and how to protect himself as part of a community, institution or organization. She also explained to the trainees its essential and effective role in achieving and promoting digital transformation, which is a key pillar of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The meeting focused on three main themes: The concept and areas of cybersecurity, its role in protecting data and privacy on the Internet and in social media, in addition to the national plan for digital transformation and its directions towards achieving a safe digital education and society.
