Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, and with the participation of universities and education departments, the first Media and Communication Forum in Education Institutions "Tawasul" will be held over two days on December 18-19, 2019. The conference seeks to discuss the media and communication roles in education institutions in the Kingdom within the framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and the extent to which these roles are aligned with successful practices that establish an effective media and communication work that serves educational and youth institutions and the community as a whole, and enhance the role of media and communication departments in these institutions in activating their position and impact on the educational and educational message.
The university, represented by the General Department of Media and Communication, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, represented by the General Department of Media and Communication, organizes this forum, which aims to discuss the work of media departments in educational sectors with events, situations and crises, how to address them in media and communication, the roles of media colleges and departments in the Kingdom in developing the media performance of educational and educational institutions, the reality of university newspapers and the communication and media roles assigned to them in addressing the young generation, and their realization of Vision 2030, professional ethics and media honor charters and their role in the positive impact
UQU President Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood explained that this forum comes as an initiative by the university in cooperation with the Ministry of Education to study the state of communication and media in educational institutions and to identify their current and expected roles, in order to contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi society in light of Vision 2030, pointing out that the roles are shared and integrated between communication and media on the one hand and educational institutions on the other, to form an integrated system as one of the socialization institutions for the individual in society.
He pointed out that the contemporary Saudi society is living in an exceptional state of development led by Vision 2030, and this vision is based on activating the multiple strengths of society and transforming its goals into a tangible reality. In light of this situation, the role of media, educational and educational institutions comes as the largest institutions with the ability to communicate with the components of Saudi society in all its spectrums to achieve the goals of the vision and help society in this state of transformation with the least amount of negative manifestations.
Al-Dawood added that the forum targets media and public relations officials in educational institutions in the Kingdom, academics and graduate students in media departments and colleges in Saudi universities, as well as media professionals interested in educational and educational issues, and employees of media departments in educational institutions.
Al-Dawood pointed out that the forum will include several themes related to the development of journalism and media work in educational institutions, including defining the role of the media in supporting the educational message, media planning for these institutions and media management, in addition to discussing the crises in them and the mutual roles between the media and educational institutions, as well as the role of professionalism and qualification in university newspapers, and introducing the media experiences of Saudi universities.
Al-Dawood thanked His Excellency the Minister of Education for his patronage and interest in this forum, which will be a shift in the media work of educational institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
