His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, sponsored the conference "Sheikh Allama Abdul Rahman Al-Saadi: His Scientific and Dawah Effects", organized by the University, represented by the College of Sciences and Arts in Aniza, in cooperation with Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen Chair for Sharia Studies, on Wednesday, 23/3/1441 AH, for two days, at the headquarters of the University City. In the presence of His Excellency the General President for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, His Excellency the Advisor at the Royal Court and member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Shathri, and a number of directors of government agencies in the region, the conference aims to shed light on the heritage of Sheikh Saadi and aspects of renewal in his thought and jurisprudence
During his patronage of the ceremony, His Highness the Emir of Qassim emphasized the importance of such a conference, which is a generous gesture in which scholars and students of science gather to focus on a great scholar who served the religion of God above all else, and excelled in many of his interpretations, pointing out that he read a lot in the interpretation of Sheikh Ibn Saadi years ago, and it had a great impact on understanding the Qur'an and its meanings, and reflecting on the verses of God Almighty, explaining that this conference reminds new generations that some of them have been overwhelmed by social media and superficial science in this era, and have not delved into the Rabbani scholars who served this religion from this country, the country of Da'wa, since the first Saudi state began.
His Highness called on the young university and all universities to focus on such scholars, highlight their efforts, and not to forget them from the conferences and seminars that clarify and explain to the present generations and the whole world the efforts of the Rabbinic scholars who served this great religion, and if we do not mention our scholars, who will mention them? He prayed to Allah Almighty to triumph his religion, exalt his word, and make the righteousness of the truth wherever it is, and make the works of this country, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, His Highness the Crown Prince, our honorable scholars, and our universities that we hope will race for such conferences and seminars, sincere to his honorable face.
His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars and General Chairman of Scientific Research and Ifta, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, sent a message to the conference, which was delivered on his behalf by Dr. Abdullah Al-Nasser, in which he said: God Almighty has raised up to serve His religion and spread the knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah, sincere men in every age and time, who serve Islam, call to God, and spread the legitimate sciences derived from the Book of God Almighty and the Sunnah of His Prophet, and no age is without these noble scholars who devoted themselves to carrying the message of legitimate knowledge and exerted their efforts in teaching people matters of their religion and enlightening them in the provisions of the Shari'ah, including halal and haram. Among these godly scholars in our blessed country is Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Nasser al-Saadi, one of the scholars of the blessed call founded by Sheikh Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab, may Allah have mercy on him, which was followed by a group of good scholars who preached the call to Allah, spread the correct doctrine, and fight polytheism, heresies and superstitions.
He made commendable efforts in the service of Islam and the sciences of the Book and the Sunnah, teaching people and enlightening them in matters of their religion, and in addition to his involvement in teaching and education, he authored a number of useful books and letters in the sciences of the Book and the Sunnah and the jurisprudence of Islamic law, and people benefited greatly from his lessons and writings in his time and after his death until this day, and his books spread among people, and students of knowledge from legal researchers, preachers, preachers, teachers, and the general Muslims came to benefit from his books and letters, each in his own art, specialty, and field of interest. His books are characterized by clarity of expression, clarity of style, smoothness of language, ease of expression and formulation, and distance from complexity and difficult phrases, and thus his books and writings were a fresh resource for all those interested in the legal sciences, including doctrine, hadith, jurisprudence, fundamentals, sermons, preaching and guidance, and other various scientific aspects of his scientific heritage.
For his part, Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Shathri, advisor at the Royal Court and member of the Council of Senior Scholars, delivered the participants' speech, during which he emphasized two things related to the conference. The first is related to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which created a climate for science, learning and education, after this country was a proverbial example of fear and hunger, so that some could not even secure themselves, so God Almighty created this country that adopted the method of monotheism, adopted the method of Sunnah and the method of science, and was a reason for the spread of science throughout the Islamic world, in creating the reasons that led to its spread.
Al-Shathri believed that this town of Unaiza is one of the models that led to the spread of knowledge through the scholars who studied there, and Al-Qassim University has a good impact on the spread of knowledge by accepting students from different parts of the Islamic world to study what benefits them, and to be imams of guidance that spread goodness through them. The second thing is that the Sheikh's efforts and effects are not limited to his writings, so one of the most quoted scholars of the era is Sheikh Abdul Rahman al-Saadi, with his close proximity to his era, so quotes from him are many and consecutive, and the shortened works that simplify these sciences were a reason for the spread of science.
For his part, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, said in his speech at the conference: The university always opens the way for what serves scientific research and harnesses all resources for its development, believing in its role in this field, which is one of the three main objectives of universities, including the establishment of specialized conferences that attract researchers to participate in them, so that ideas meet, minds transform, and recommendations are issued with impact, in a distinctive objective scientific atmosphere. We are pleased that His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Qassim Region, will open this conference, which is one of the aspects of caring for scientists and their heritage in the incubators of higher education, which is an extension of the care of the state and its leadership - may God protect it - for science and scientists, since its establishment by the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud - may God have mercy on him - at the hands of the founding king.
Al-Dawood added: The honor of His Highness the Emir of Qassim for this conference is an extension of the university's continuous support and care for scientists and researchers, especially sharia scholars, who had a prominent role such as Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Saadi - may Allah have mercy on him - and a group of senior scholars of this blessed country were educated by him, so to them a great thanks and sincere prayer for the best reward, offering thanks to the scientists and researchers participating in the conference and all attendees.
For his part, the head of the conference's organizing committee, Dean of the College of Sciences and Arts in Aniza, Prof. Dr. Farid Al-Zamil, said: This scientific conference comes in fulfillment of science, fulfilling the right of its people, and serving its students. The requests for participation in the conference were received immediately after its announcement, from which 127 abstracts were extracted, and after examination and arbitration, 52 research papers and working papers, and 53 male and female researchers, were accepted in the various sciences in which the sheikh participated.
On behalf of the conference's organizing committee, Al-Zamil thanked the researchers, the referee professors, the scientific committee, and all participants in the conference, noting that their output is the fruit of the conference that remains. Al-Zamil pointed out that the memory of Sheikh Al-Saadi brings us back to a great attitude of His Majesty King Saud, may God have mercy on him, when he learned of the Sheikh's illness, and immediately ordered a special plane to be sent from Unaiza to major hospitals, despite the limited capabilities and options at that time, may God have mercy on them all, as science and its people were among the greatest things this blessed country cared about.
