The Qassim University football team reached the final of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation championship for the second time after reaching the final for the 2011/2012 academic year. After defeating the University of Hail in the meeting held at the Prince Musaed bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Hail, on penalty kicks.
The Qassim University team will meet its counterpart Taif University in the final of the fourth Saudi Universities Sports Federation Championship on April 25 in the city of Taif.
For his part, Dr. Khalid Al-Sharida, Dean of Student Affairs, congratulated the members of the technical and administrative staff and the players on the occasion of qualifying to the final match and the honorable level presented by the team during its journey in this tournament, through which it reflected the real reality reached by the university's sports, which receives all the support and attention of the UQU President, Dr. Khalid Al-Hamoudi, and the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tami. Dr. Al-Sharida asked everyone to exert more effort and give in the final match in order to obtain the title of this tournament and add this achievement to the record of achievements achieved by the university at the level of the Kingdom, and to include the football cup to the table tennis championship cup in which the university achieved first place in all categories (doubles - singles - teams), and to be next to the medals of swimming, judo and karate, praising the efforts made by the technical and administrative staff and students. For his part, the General Supervisor of Sports Activities, Abdullah Al-Khalifa, on behalf of himself and all members of the sports supervision and students, expressed his thanks to the Dean of Student Affairs, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fahad Al-Dhalei, the Vice Dean of Educational Affairs, and the UQU President. For their support, care and follow-up of the university team since the beginning of the preparation and participation in this tournament, which resulted in achieving this achievement and reaching the final match. He emphasized everyone's keenness to provide the best levels in the final match to obtain its title.
