The course lasted for two days and was attended by 40 members of the university's academic staff of both sexes, at the headquarters of the Leadership and Capacity Development Center at the university.
This course came out of the deanship's desire to ensure the quality of research projects and scientific papers at the university and increase the chances of publishing them in journals classified in the ISI Scopus list, which contributes to raising the university's ranking in the QS list.
For his part, the Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research, Dr. Mansour Al-Sharida, explained that the course discussed a number of important topics related to this topic, including: The principles that must be followed to write a scientific paper and publish it in high-ranked journals, reading the reviewers' notes and the mechanism for dealing with them, in addition to the requirements for publishing in the highest-ranked journals and the mechanisms for selecting them.
Al-Sharida added: The program of this specialized seminar provided advice and guidance in scientific writing, distinguished scientific publishing, and exchange of experiences in this field, as it was presented by a male and female trainer specialized in scientific publishing. The program also included lectures, scientific activities, live examples, scientific discussions, and a review of experiences in the stages of publication.
The Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research pointed out that each participant in the program was given the opportunity to discuss the summary of a study with the expert presenting the program, then the participant received scientific opinion, guidance for research development and feedback on the summary. The level of the program was determined according to the entity's request, and included the fields that were identified, general or specialized in specific fields, as the program targeted researchers with less, medium and advanced experience.
