Qassim University participated in the QS World University Rankings Conference, which was held last weekend in Seoul, Korea, with the participation of more than 50 universities representing many countries around the world.

The university succeeded in attracting visitors through its pavilion, in which it presented a summary of the university and its faculties with a symbolic package that included a brochure explaining the university's medical, agricultural, sharia, economic and engineering tracks, in addition to the university newspaper in Arabic and English, in addition to souvenirs that include the name of the university.

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Ahmed bin Younis Al-Barrak, praised the active participation of Qassim University in the global ranking conference, pointing out the importance of the participation of Saudi universities in such scientific events to benefit from the experiences of ancient universities in addition to introducing the world to the Saudi human being.

Al-Barrak also praised the Qassim University newspaper, stressing that it reflects the programs, activities and orientations of the university in a professional manner.

The Cultural Attaché, Dr. Hisham Abdulrahman Khodawardi, stressed the importance of the participation of Qassim University and other Saudi universities in such scientific forums, which embrace many experts and pioneers, allowing our universities to benefit from their experiences and seize opportunities for academic and research cooperation with universities that have a long history in this field, especially in light of the renaissance in higher education in the Kingdom in recent years, wishing Saudi universities more progress and success in order to contribute to the advancement and progress of the homeland.

Qassim University had strengthened its participation by presenting two main working papers within the conference program presented by the head of the delegation, Prof. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Tami, Vice President for Educational Affairs and Dr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Mufadhi, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering for Educational Affairs. Dr. Al-Tami spoke at the Qassim University Hall at the conference about the international cooperation of Qassim University, reviewing what the university has achieved in the field of academic programs and scientific research, noting that the university has been able to sign a number of cooperation contracts with international universities in Asia, Europe and America, including some that serve a specific college of the university and some that serve the university on the whole. Qassim University's experience in accepting non-Saudi students

Dr. Fahad Al-Mufadhi also spoke about the experience of Qassim University in the internationalization of students, where the internationalization of students is considered one of the positive indicators for universities that lead to raising the level of higher education, pointing out that the presence of foreign students in Saudi universities will effectively contribute to enhancing the cultures of Saudi universities as it enables students to coexist and exchange with students coming from different and diverse cultures.

He added: We are witnessing a remarkable development in cultural enhancement by increasing the ratio of foreign faculty members to the ratio of local faculty members, as well as increasing the ratio of foreign students, in addition to scholarship programs to various countries of the world.

Dr. Almufadhi gave a brief overview of the percentage of non-Saudi students in Saudi universities, where the percentage of foreign students in Saudi universities reached approximately 4% of the total number of students, as well as the percentage of foreign academics in Saudi universities reached approximately 40% of the total number of academics, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Higher Education for the past year, in addition to the number of scholarships to various countries of the world, which gives a distinct impression in the field of student exchange around the world.

He also reviewed the experience of Al-Qassim University through the university's strategic plan, which defined one of its goals to promote international cooperation and partnership through exchange projects for faculty members and students between different universities in the world. He explained the remarkable development in the rate of continuous increase in the acceptance of foreign students during the past five years in undergraduate and graduate programs with an explanation of the composition of foreign students at Al-Qassim University and their distribution on scientific disciplines with an explanation of the aspects that attract foreign students to join Al-Qassim University and the advantages they receive in addition to the issues and difficulties facing foreign students.
