Diseases common to humans and animals

Course Description: This course provides an overview of zoonotic diseases, including fundamental concepts and major classifications of these diseases. It also covers various types of zoonotic diseases caused by different pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, as well as the role of arthropods in disease transmission. The course also reviews the different ways animals act as carriers for diseases that can affect human health.

Prerequisites: VMD 472
Objectives of the course :

Providing students with knowledge regarding the role of farm animals, pets, birds, and fish in transmitting zoonotic diseases, by reviewing sources of infection, transmission routes, symptoms in humans, and prevention and control methods to avoid occupational diseases and maintain public health.

Course outputs :

Students' ability to develop strategic methods for the prevention and control of common diseases.
2. Students' ability to interpret data on the Internet regarding zoonotic diseases.
