This course aims to provide students with adequate knowledge of pathological changes in several body systems, including: the digestive system, liver and biliary tract, nervous system, male reproductive system, female reproductive system, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, urinary system, hemolymphatic system, skin, udder, eyes, ears, endocrine system, and musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, tendons). Therefore, by the end of the course, the student should be able to:
Identification of gross and microscopic lesions that may be associated with a specific disease (for diagnostic purposes).
This course will prepare students for clinical studies (VMD 454, VMD 474, VMD 479, VMD 481, VMD 453) at later levels.
The student will be able to keep up with advancements in systemic pathology.
The student will be able to identify, analyze, and interpret gross and pathological changes affecting the aforementioned systems for diagnosing animal diseases.
Students will be able to: handle gross lesions on necropsied animals and microscopic sections for examination and write medical and histopathological reports.
