• To provide students with basic knowledge in general pathology topics, concerning abnormal morphological, biochemical, and functional changes in various tissues, cells, and body fluids, which may occur as a result of a disease. Students will also gain basic knowledge about different etiologies.
This course prepares students for the study of systemic pathology (VMD 352, VMD 461) in subsequent levels.
The student should be able to list degenerative, necrotic, inflammatory, cyclical, and neoplastic lesions, both grossly and microscopically.
2. The student should be able to identify and describe gross and histological pathological changes and relate them to various etiologies for diagnosis.
