Course Description: The course covers general virology, viruses of veterinary and zoonotic importance, as well as diagnostic and prevention methods.

Prerequisites: VMD 341
Objectives of the course :

Provide students with adequate information and knowledge about viruses of veterinary and Zoonotic importance, as well as diagnostic and preventive methods.

Course outputs :

– Enable students to: State and identify essential information related to virology, describe viral infections and their interaction with cells and other viruses, define viruses and state their differences from other microorganisms, recognize nomenclature, structure, and classification, and recall DNA and RNA viruses, their characteristics, and their ability to cause disease.
– Students will be able to identify and implement appropriate methods for virus recognition.
